Safe drinking water engineering
Drinking water treatment in the Canary Islands and Africa
We treat groundwater, surface water, mains water or alternative abstraction sources using barriers selected on the basis of water analysis, in order to obtain safe, stable water suitable for its intended use.
Multi-barrier water treatment
From intake water to drinking water through complementary barriers
Making water drinkable doesn't mean applying the exact same process every time. We combine only the stages necessary to correct the parameters detected, protect the disinfection and maintain a stable quality without oversizing the plant.
Solids retention and turbidity
We prepare the water for the subsequent stages and prevent particles from reducing the effectiveness of the treatment.
- Media leak
- Safety cartridges and filtration
- Clarification where necessary
Physicochemical conditioning
We adjust the parameters that affect the taste, odour, colour, stability or suitability of the water according to the analytical result.
- Activated carbon and adsorption
- Iron and manganese correction
- pH adjustment and mineral balance
Disinfection and final check
We define the microbiological barrier and the necessary control points to deliver safe water and verify its quality.
- Ultraviolet radiation
- Chlorination and dosing
- Instrumentation and sampling
Analytics-driven design
We treat the specific problem without oversizing the plant
Before selecting equipment, we identify what prevents the water from being fit for use and how the abstraction may vary. This way, we avoid confusing water treatment with desalination and we build a treatment train that is consistent with the real risk.
- Turbidity, solids, colour and organic matter.
- Taste, odour, iron, manganese and other specific parameters.
- Hardness, pH, mineral balance and water stability.
- Microbiological risk, disinfection and protective residual.

Sanitary and operational control
Microbiological safety and stable quality at the point of delivery
Water treatment works when each barrier protects the next. We integrate filtration, conditioning, disinfection and control as a single process, with measurement points that allow deviations to be detected before they affect the service.
Applications
Reliable drinking water for every point of use
We develop drinking water treatment systems for collective supply, tourist facilities, the food industry and remote locations with different operational needs.
Hotels and resorts
Stable production for human consumption, kitchens, utilities and internal networks.
Communities and the public sector
Solutions for supply, communal installations and essential services.
Industry and food
Controlled water for processes, cleaning and applications with specific requirements.
Remote environments
Modular plants for locations with space, power or access constraints.

Decentralised water treatment
Compact units close to the point of use
We integrate filtration, conditioning, disinfection and control into a skid or container to reduce civil works and bring drinking water production closer to where it is needed. This is not a downscaled desalination plant: each unit is configured based on the intake and the health objective.
- Media filtration and activated carbon where applicable.
- UV disinfection, dosing and process control.
- Coordinated pumping, storage and boosting.
- Assembly, testing and adjustment prior to dispatch.

Sustained quality
Operation, control and consumables to conserve drinking water
Quality doesn't end with commissioning. We check the status of the barriers, dosage, UV lamp, consumables, and control points to prevent any loss of effectiveness.
Preventative monitoring
We schedule servicing, cartridge and media replacement, UV and dosing monitoring, cleaning and functional checks to reduce call-outs.
View a maintenance planUpgrade of existing facilities
We locate the barrier limiting quality or flow rate and propose phased improvements, retaining the equipment that is still useful.

Key considerations before installing a water treatment plant
How does water treatment differ from desalination?
Desalination focuses primarily on reducing dissolved salts. Potabilisation addresses the full range of parameters that determine water fitness: turbidity, organic matter, taste, odour, metals, chemical balance and microbiological risk, applying only the necessary barriers.
What data is needed to design a water treatment system?
We need a representative water analysis, the source and variations of the water, the expected flow rate or consumption, the end use, the available space, and the energy and operating conditions.
What problems can a water treatment plant treat?
According to the analytics, it can reduce turbidity, solids, organic matter, taste, odour, iron, manganese, certain physico-chemical compounds and microbiological contamination. Each parameter requires a specific barrier.
Do all water treatment plants require reverse osmosis?
No. Reverse osmosis is incorporated when it is necessary to reduce dissolved salts or other compounds that are not removed by filtration, adsorption, conditioning and disinfection.
Can you install the treatment inside a container?
Yes. Containerised units allow filtration, conditioning, disinfection, pumping, instrumentation and control to be integrated into a compact assembly that is tested prior to dispatch.
Do you carry out maintenance in the Canary Islands and support for Africa?
Yes. We provide maintenance and consumable supplies in the Canary Islands, and we coordinate solutions, logistics, spare parts and support for projects in West and North Africa from the islands.
